Mark Zuckerberg says he is "ready today" to fight Elon Musk, and although he suggested August 26 as the date for their cage fight, Musk has not confirmed it.
"Without holding out hope," Zuckerberg said in a Sunday post on Threads that included a screenshot of Musk's post on X/Twitter about lifting weights to prepare.
A late-night Sunday post from Musk said he "might need surgery" and will undergo an MRI on the neck and upper back to check before possibly canceling the fight date.
In response to another Musk post stating that the fight would be "broadcast live on X" and the proceeds would go to charity for veterans, Zuckerberg responded by saying they should "use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity." (Facebook and Instagram have a built-in fundraising feature, while X/Twitter does not.)
In another comment about Musk, Zuckerberg responded to a post on Threads asking if the fight's broadcast on X/Twitter had been mutually agreed upon. "More like 'funding secured'," Zuckerberg replied, referencing Musk's tweet about taking Tesla private, for which he was sued by investors for being false.
Meta's CEO also said he loves the sport and will "keep competing with people who train no matter what happens here."
