OpenAI has finally released a version of ChatGPT that promises to protect business data as more companies consider using the platform but are concerned about privacy and security.
In a blog post, OpenAI claimed that ChatGPT Enterprise offers improved security and privacy, unlimited high-speed access to GPT-4, more powerful data analysis for businesses to understand information much faster, and the ability to ask more complex questions to ChatGPT.
Privacy and security have been concerns for companies that fear their data could be used to train ChatGPT and are worried that using the tool could accidentally expose sensitive customer information to AI models. OpenAI said that ChatGPT Enterprise users will have control and ownership of their data, which will not be used at all to train GPT.
Other features, such as customizing ChatGPT's knowledge about company data and even more advanced analytical tools, are coming soon. Eventually, the company said it would also offer ChatGPT Enterprise pricing options for smaller teams.
The company said it is “onboarding as many companies as it can in the coming weeks.”
OpenAI told The Verge that this is the first business-focused product for ChatGPT and is independent of ChatGPT and ChatGPT Plus, the subscription plan for faster access to ChatGPT.
Companies already using ChatGPT can opt to keep the current options to access ChatGPT, according to an email from the company, but can switch to ChatGPT Enterprise if they want to access the new features.
