Microsoft Teams users will have access to a new Microsoft 365 Copilot feature powered by AI during calls and within chat messages. Microsoft is announcing an expansion of Copilot in the Teams call interface and in regular chats, beyond the meeting experience it introduced earlier this year. All this is part of Microsoft 365 Copilot, which Microsoft has set at a high price today.
Copilot for Teams calls will add a generative AI experience for real-time summaries or the ability to generate dates, names, and key points during calls. I can imagine this will be super useful for salespeople who have to deal with multiple clients and keep track of key dates and numbers discussed in these types of calls.
Microsoft uses a similar example of a salesperson calling a client and how Copilot could help. “As the client speaks, Copilot summarizes the call and captures relevant questions about product features, benefits, and pricing,” explains the Microsoft Teams team in a blog post. “Copilot can also capture customer feedback and suggest next steps. You can use this information when drafting a follow-up email with supporting content and information to address the questions raised during the call.”
Copilot will also come to Teams chats, allowing users to extract key points from conversations in chat threads. This seems especially useful for teams working in different time zones, to quickly catch up on a conversation missed overnight. This will make it easier to catch up on any missed conversation instead of having to scroll back. Copilot can also extract important information from a conversation to help create lists or tables.
💡 Insight for Entrepreneurs: The incorporation of AI-driven technologies, like Microsoft's Copilot, into communication and collaboration tools like Teams, offers new opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity in businesses. Entrepreneurs can leverage these tools to optimize their communications, automate tasks, and gain valuable insights from interactions with customers. By staying abreast of the latest technological innovations and leveraging AI-based solutions, entrepreneurs can remain competitive and adapt to a constantly changing business environment.
